Racket of the ADIPOWER range CTRL of the prestigious Adidas bran in its 1.8 version. It is the racket chosen by Alex Ruiz for this season. Composed of carbon fibers 3K and aluminized carbon on the face and a core of EVA HIGH MEMORY gum. It has a round shape and a textured surface.

RACKET FEATURES:

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

By picking up you get the feeling of a lightweight and very balanced racket. The swing is clearly directed towards the handle. By placing tungsten or lead tapes in the upper part it is possible to put a slightly higher swing for those who prefer.

GENERAL LINES:

In  game is a racket with a medium touch tending very slightly to  hard maybe fruit of the gum that composes it and the Exoskeleton system that translates into a greater rigidity of the frame. It´s  got a very controlled stroke from the back of the court. Features a very generous sweet spot. In terms of power, there’s plenty for a round format.

IN THE NET:

In the net it has a good compromise between control and power and because it has very nice handling and a controlled output it will make all look easy.

BACK OF THE COURT:

Control is exceptional in the defensive phase. It has suficient output and is very manageable, it will help you very much in the defensive stage.

WEIGHT:

The weight tested was 365gr. The surface is rough.

SOUND:

In sound terms is a racket that has an average sound.

SAFETY CORD:

The safety cord is simple, which leaves something to be desired.

DURABILITY:

In terms of durability, it seems to be a pretty solid and well built racket which leads to wanting that can have a long lifespan.

PROS:

  • Excellent defensive game
  • Very manageable
  • Excellent power/Control commitment

CONS:

  • Non-adjustable safety cord

CONCLUSION:

In conclusion, this is a racket for defensive players who prefer something with not much output but that extra power at the net.

It has a stroke of medium hardness and with some output but not too much. You will feel like fish in the water at the defensive stage by its weight distribution and transmit very good sensations in the net by the surprising power. I felt no vibration on the arm. The finishes are spectacular as well as the visual graphic.

It is an excellent quality racket, which in my opinion serves right-wing players but who also like to add some power to its game. A  very manageable racket witch will most surely fit  any player. An excellent option.
