Racket of the line “ADIPOWER ATTK”, from ADIDAS, in its version 1.8 SOFT. The weapon chosen and developed with the contribution of the irreverent player of top Ale Galán. Composed of 3k carbon fiber, a structural reinforcement in the aluminized carbon face and a core of EVA SOFT PERFORMANCE Gum, a low density gum. It has an oversize diamond shape. It has a rough surface with a glossy finish.
When you take it for the first time you get the feeling of a very balanced and sturdy racket, very well finished and lightweight. The balance is directed towards the head but it is not something that you notice immediately. By placing the overgrips, you will be able to slightly optimise the swing towards the handle. If you cannot put more than 1 overgrip the option is also for placing tungsten tapes under the Overgrip (s) to lower the paddle balance. On the contrary if you want to add more power, place the ribbons on the top of the racket below or above the protector.
This is a pretty viable option for when you like a lot of all the other features of a racket, less of its swing.
In play is a racket with a soft touch tending slightly to medium. It features a sweet spot still reduced, highly placed but larger than in the standard version ADIPOWER ATTK 1.8 due to its oversize format. In terms of power is only slightly below the ADIPOWER ATTK 1.8 but remains very well served. It has a medium-short output.
In the net:
In the net, its amazing handling for the format allows the blows such as trays and volleys come out very deep and precise without much effort.
Back of the court:
The background control of the court is quite acceptable for this type of racket. The sweet spot slightly larger than a standard diamond racket helps in defensive stage. It will never be a round racket, but it complies fairly well and its reasonable output makes the lobs come out with astonishing ease.
The weight tested was 360gr.
The surface is rough with glossy finish.
In sound terms is a racket that has a medium-sounding and medium-low timbre.
The safety cord is simple and does not allow easy adjustment.
Durability: In terms of durability, it seems to be a solid racket, very well built and robust that will not break very easily. Well-esteemed will last a long time in my opinion.
- Good power/control ratio for this format
- Very well achieved visual
- Good vibration Absorption
- Safety Cord Not adjustable
Conclusion: In conclusion, this is a racket suitable for aggressive players of advanced level who seek power while maintaining some commitment to control and comfort in the defensive phase. It has a soft stroke and a medium-short output. It’s a racket with excellent commitment between power, control and output. In the defensive phase it does not have big problems and the above-average sweet spot will help you.
In the net is amazing at all levels. Volleys and trays come out with amazing depth and precision. In the smash you will be able to draw by 3, by 4 and bring the ball back consistently.
The visual part is very attractive in my opinion, sober but well-conjugated. You can see the added value of the ADIDAS marketing department. Surprisingly I did not feel vibration in the arm as in the ADIPOWER ATTK 1.8 and I found that has an additional comfort in relation to that version.
The high swing, as in all rackets of this kind, can tire out the tendons after some playing time. It serves, in my opinion, high-level and left-wing players who excel by aggressiveness in the net game or, I dare say, quite aggressive right-wing players, as it is a racket that still allows for a very acceptable defensive game.
Fantastic soft edition of Adidas da already very well achieved ADIPOWER ATTK 1.8. Good games!
