Racket of the “TOTAL SHIELD” line, from the Spanish brand Cartri, in its 2020 version. Composed of a carbon and kevlar structure. Carbon and fiberglass face. It has a black EVA gum core. It has a tear shape, little aggressive. It has a rough surface and a matte finish.

FEATURES OF THE RACKET:

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

When you pick it up for the first time you get the feeling of a well-finished and balanced racket. The balance is centered to tend slightly towards the head.

By placing the overgrips, you will be able to slightly optimize the balance towards the handle. If you are unable to place more than 1 overgrip, the option also falls by placing the included weights to lower the racket balance. On the contrary, if you want to add more power, place the included weights on the top of the racket at the location indicated on the protector. This is a very viable option when you are very fond of all the other characteristics of a racket, except the swing.

GENERAL LINES:

In play is a racket with a medium touch, tending towards soft. Natural rigidity taking into account the materials used, such as carbon and kevlar. The sweet spot is positive for the format. The handling is also very reasonable for a racket of this shape, you don’t feel the weight on your head too much. In terms of power, it is not spectacular but it does it. It has a short exit, tending towards medium.

IN THE NET:

Trays and volleys are controlled in the network. It is possible to react considerably quickly and the lower outlet allows greater control of the ball. In smash, with the correct technique you can serve by 3, by 4 or bring the ball back naturally. The roughened face helps to achieve the desired effects.

BACK OF THE COURT:

The control in the defensive zone is very positive. It is not a round racket, but it is doing very well in this part of the field. The output is not a permissive racket, which means that the player has more control over the placement of the ball, but does not have that extra help, which is found in rackets with higher output. The sweet spot, is quite good for a tear racket, it is not exceptional, but it does not compromise. Handling, positive for the shape, also helps to react to the most complicated balls. The lobs come out naturally, but it is important to hit them completely so they don’t get too short.

WEIGHT:

The tested weight was 370gr.

SURFACE:

The surface is rough with a matte finish.

SOUND:

In terms of sound it is a racket that has a medium sound and a medium timbre.

SECURITY CORD:

The safety cord is adjustable and very comfortable.

DURABILITY:

In terms of durability, it appears to be a very solid racket. Well cared for, it can last a long time with good performance.

PROS:

  • Control / power ratio
  • Handling
  • Adjustable security lanyard

CONS:

  • Rigidity (Positive point for some players)

CONCLUSION:

In conclusion, this is a racket, where balance is the key word. A hybrid option, “all around”, which has a positive note in all areas of the court. It perfectly serves players on both sides without any problem.

The visual part is quite interesting, with fluorescent green contrasting with black.

There is some stiffness and eventually some weight in the arm given the shape, however the vibration is minimal in the tendon.

A very interesting hybrid good option, with superior material.

Good games!
