Racquet of the “PANTHER” line, of the KELME brand, in its version of 2018. Made exclusively of carbon and a Eva Premium UK PRO gum core. It has a round shape. It has a rough surface with a glossy finish.

When you take it for the first time you will feel that is manageable and with good finishes. The balance is directed towards the handle, but I would say it is centered. When you place the overgrips, you will be able to optimize the balance towards the handle. If you can not put more than 1 overgrip the option is also to place tungsten strips under the overgrip(s) to lower the racket swing. On the contrary, if you still want to add more power, place the tapes on top of the racket underneath or over the protector. This is a fairly viable option for when you really like all the other features of a racquet, less its swing. However in this type of purely control racket I do not see the advantage of putting more weight on the top of the racket and countering its “DNA”

In game is a racket with a medium-soft touch. The gum would definitely be very soft, but the carbon structure gives it additional stiffness. It has a very wide sweet spot. In terms of power it is not the ideal racket. It has a medium-high output. In the net trays and volleys come out very deep without difficulty which leads me to recommend attention and a correct technique so that you do not send many balls directly to the glass. The background control of the court is very good, its medium-soft touch and medium-high output will help you a lot at this stage. It has good handling but could be better considering the format. The lobs come out well directed and quite deep.

The weight tested was 364gr.

The surface is rough with gloss finish.

In sound terms it is a racket that has an average sound and an average tone.

The cord is simple and does not allow for easy adjustment.

In terms of durability, it seems to be a very solid and well built racket which leads to wanting to have a long lifespan when well estimated.

Pros:

  • Good control
  • Wide Sweet Spot

Cons:

  • Kacks power
  • Non-adjustable safety cord

In conclusion, this is a racket designed for players who are starting up to experienced players who want a racket very focused on the control and defensive phase. It has a medium-soft stroke and a medium-high bounce. At defensive stage it is excellent and will feel like fish in the water. In the net is where things get complicated. Although you get good volleys and deep trays without any effort, you need to be careful not to hit the ball directly at the glass. In the smash you need an additional effort to draw by 3, by 4 and bring the ball back. The rough face helps a lot in the slices. The visual part is sober, well achieved and maintains the general line of the brand. I felt practically no vibration in my arm. Its gum is quite comfortable, only the carbon gives it the extra stiffness. It serves, in my opinion, right-wing players who want something focused on the defensive phase with a very comfortable and controlled touch. Another excellent option for KELME. Good games!
