CARBON EDITION line racket from the ORYGEN brand. The brand chosen by Godo Diaz for this season. Composed exclusively of carbon fiber, it has a core of BLACK EVA ULTRA SOFT gum, a medium density gum. It has an inverted tear format and a smooth surface with matt finish.
When you take it for the first time you get the feeling of a racket with excellent finishes, balanced and handling. The balance is centered, which is great in a racket this shape. By placing the overgrips, you will be able to further optimize the balance towards the handle. If you cannot put more than 1 overgrip the option is also for placing tungsten tapes under the Overgrip (s) to lower the paddle balance. On the contrary if you want to add more power, place the ribbons on the top of the racket below or above the protector. This is a pretty viable option for when you like a lot of all the other features of a racket, less its swing.
In-game is a racket with a medium-soft touch, tending to soft. It features a pretty wide sweet spot, excellent for a non-round format. In terms of power is quite well, there are better, but will not miss in my opinion. There’s an average exit.
In the net:
In the net, it allows you to react quickly and effectively block the opponent’s ball. Volleys and trays come out profound and well-targeted in general. In the smash with a good placement of weight on the ball and correct technique will get with relative ease draw by 3, by 4 and bring the ball back.
Back of the court:
Control in defensive phase is very good, the average output will help in the balls harder to return and the tact allows you good control and accuracy. The very large sweet spot, along with the centered balance and medium output make everything look easier from the back of the court. In the lob, the ultra soft gum and consequent average output makes it require some attention on your part to avoid the glass, but it is easy to get used to.
The weight tested was 360gr.
The surface is smooth with matt finish.
In sound terms is a racket that has a medium-high loudness and a medium timbre.
The safety cord is adjustable and very comfortable.
In terms of durability, it seems to be a solid and well built and robust racket that will not break very easily. Well-esteemed will last a long time in my opinion.
- Excellent sweet spot
- Good power/control ratio
- Adjustable cord
In conclusion, this is a racket indicated for players of advanced level, because it is a top-of-the-range racket that is not cheap. A player who wants a balanced racket in all areas of the field, which allows him to defend without problems and still have a very acceptable power in the net. It has good handling, the result of its centered balance.
The output is average and will only experience some difficulty of getting used to the lobs and strokes performed incorrectly. Its touch is medium-soft, slightly tending to soft. In the smash, with good technique you will be able to draw by 3, by 4 and bring the ball back without great difficulty. Trays and volleys come out with good depth and precision.
The visual part is well achieved. Sober but with details that elevate the quality of the racket.
I felt some vibration in my arm, but not enough to disturb clearly. Its totally carbon structure gives you a rigidity that makes you feel some vibration, but the ultra soft gum compensates for that point, making it a nice racket to play with.
It serves, in my opinion, advanced level players, either left or right. Being a very multi-purpose racket, I would still venture to say that is better for a right-wing player with a lot of aggression in his game.
A very impressive racket and with quality where there are few defects, where perhaps the biggest is the price, but quality costs money. Good games!
