[dfrcs name=”ORYGEN ZOOM XTREME”]

A racket from the “ZOOM” range of the ORYGEN brand, in the new EXTREME version of 2019. Consisting of a 3K carbon cover, carbon tubular structure and a core composed of Goma EVA Ultra Soft High Recovery. It has a diamond shape. It has a smooth surface with matt finish.

Racket Features:

First Impressions:

Taking it for the first time, you get the feeling of a well-finished, potent racket, but at the same time light. The balance is tending to the head as it would be normal in this format.

By placing the overgrips, you will be able to slightly optimise the swing towards the handle. If you cannot put more than 1 overgrip the option is also for placing tungsten tapes under the Overgrip (s) to lower the paddle balance. On the contrary if you want to add more power, place the ribbons on the top of the racket below or above the protector. This is a very viable option for when you like a lot of all the other features of a paddle, less the balance.

In play is a racket with a touch of medium hardness tending to soft. It has a dry, but comfortable stroke. It features a reduced sweet spot, perhaps its weakest point, yet given the format and aggressiveness, you can’t ask for everything. In terms of power, it’s very well served. It has a short exit to tender for medium, given its ultra soft gum.

In the net trays and volleys, are strokes that will take great pleasure in performing with this racket, because they come out deep, potent and very poisonous.

Control from the back of the court is reasonable, and can be considered above average for a racket of this format. Its good handling for the format, coupled with sufficient output, allow this racket to also have an interesting behavior from the back of the court. Sweet spot is the only thing that leaves something to be desired.

The tested weight was 365gr.

The surface is smooth with matte finish.

In sound terms is a racket that has a medium-high sonority and with a medium timbre.

The safety cord is adjustable. In my opinion my favorite model, simple and effective.

In terms of durability, it seems to be a very solid, very well built and robust racket that will not break very easily. Well estimated will last a long time in my opinion.

  • Excellent power
  • Manageable for the format
  • Comfortable touch, with enough output
  • Adjustable cord System

  • Sweet Spot Reduced
  • High price

In conclusion, this is a racket designed to detail and with all the current technology. In my opinion is a racket that serves players essentially left.  It is a high-end racket, well equiped and with a price also above average,  more suitable for players of higher level.

It has a medium-soft stroke and a short output tending to average. It is a racket with excellent power, without completely discuring the defensive game. The blow is dry but comfortable, fruit of the gum EVA Ultra Soft High Recovery.  In a defensive phase, it will never be a round racket, but it’s not bad at all.

In the net it has the power that exceeds the need. Volleys and trays come out accurately, with great depth and weight. You can do without great difficulty, draw for 3, 4 and bring the ball back with a correct technique.

The visual part is in my opinion is quite well achieved.

I didn’t feel practically any vibration in my arm. The diamond format, however, usually starts to weigh after some playing time.

A racket and a very well conceived, potent brand that will not go unnoticed. If you want to open your wallet, it is undoubtedly an option to take into account.

Good games!
