Racket of the known Spyder line of the Spanish brand Siux. It is the second edition of a racket that was previously released in a different mold and very distinctive materials. Composed now by carbon and graphene and a core of black EVA SOFT. It has a diamond shape and a smooth surface with mate finish.
The first impression is of a well-built racket as it is already a habit of the rackets of the Siux brand. The balance is directed to the head much by force of its shape. By placing three or more grips and with the help of tungsten or lead tapes it is possible to put a relatively lower balance, but never at the level of a round-shaped racket, unless they choose not to put protector which is not recommended.
The feeling is of a racket with a soft touch, a solid and steady hit when it hits the sweet spot. It features a medium sweet spot tending to short, characteristic in diamond formats. Power is something that is not missing from the Spyder, is even its best quality. In the net is impressive the power that is achieved in the smash and volley. The control is reasonably good for players with a refined technique. There is some output, so the defensive level is hard.
The weight tested was 365gr. After placement of 4 grips and protector, it was a little more comfortable and with the balance slightly lower.
The surface is smooth, with a fantastic matt finish.
In sound terms is a racket that makes you listen and well when you hit the sweet spot with power.
The safety cord is adjustable which becomes very comfortable for handling.
In terms of durability, it seems to be a pretty solid and well built racket which leads to wanting that can have a long lifespan.
- Excellent power
- High quality materials
- High price
- High balance
In conclusion, it seems to me a very poisonous racket in time to attack the net. With a soft hit and low output, it will not help much in the defensive stage, but it pays off and much in the offensive part. It does not transmit large vibrations to the arm which does not exert too much strain on the tendons. The finishes are spectacular as well as the visual graphic. It is a high quality racket, which is best enjoyed by experienced players and in my opinion it is based on a very offensive game, preferably for a player on the left. Whoever chooses this racket will not be disappointed and will provide beautiful padel moments, especially when it comes to “smashing.”
