Racket of the line “AQUILA ROCKET“, of the renowned Spanish brand, STARVIE. Composed of a 100% carbon structure. Carbon face in full. It has a soft EVA gum core. It has a tear shape. It has a rough surface, made directly in the mold of the racket, with the star of the logo, starvie’s brand image.
When you pick it up for the first time, you get the feeling of a sturdy, well-finished racket. The swing is centered, but feels quite light to the tear shape.
By placing the overgrips, you will be able to slightly optimise the swing towards the handle. If you fail to place more than 1 overgrip the option also falls for putting the included weights to lower the paddle balance. On the contrary if you still want to add more power, put the weights included at the top of the racket at the spot indicated on the protector. This is a very viable option for when you like a lot of all the other features of a paddle, less the swing.
In game is a racket with a medium-soft touch. It is a very comfortable racket and adaptable to various styles of play. The sweet spot is very interesting for the format, being quite wide, above average.
The handling is positive, it is not a round racket, yet it seems. In terms of power, it leaves a little to be desired, but it is not bad, because the slight loss is related to the gains in control and handling. It has an average exit to tender for discharge.
IN THE NET:
In the net, the good handling and output, make it a racket quite easy, however it must be paid to the glass.Trays and volleys come out with ease and good natural depth.
In the smash, with a correct technique and good physical ability, you can get it through 3, for 4 or bring the ball back. The power is not the best point of this racket, but it fulfills without problems. The rough face helps in performing the desired effects.
AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FIELD:
Control in the defensive zone is pretty good. Feel an extra help in the more complicated balls, due to the good output. The handling, positive, also helps at this stage of the game. The lobs are also quite easy to run in depth.
The weight tested was 364gr.
The surface is rough with glossy finish.
In sound terms it is a racket that has a medium sound and with a medium-low timbre.
The safety cord is simple, does not allow adjustment, but the material is quite comfortable.
In terms of durability, it seems to be a very solid racket. Well cared for, it can last a long time with good performance.
- Sweet Spot
- Output (for those who like high output)
- Safety Cord Not adjustable
In conclusion, this is a very balanced racket, to the liking of a wide spectrum of players. It’s a fairly easy racket that combines good defensive and offensive attributes. Serves players on both sides and adapts to all levels.
The visual part, is spectacular in our opinion, with a combination of bold and well achieved colors.
In terms of vibration, it feels some, due to the natural stiffness of the carbon, however the soft gum helps to counter that point.
An “all around” model with excellent quality / price!
