[dfrcs name=”PALA DROP SHOT VERSUS”]

The “VERSUS” line racket from the DROP SHOT brand. Composed of a double tubular carbon structure, a face in INNEGRA fibers (polypropylene fibers) and a particle foam in the impact zone, ENERGY PRO and a high density EVA SOFT gum core. It has a tear shape. It has a smooth surface with matt finish.

Racket Features:

First Impressions:

When you take it for the first time, you get the feeling of a different, robust and well-managed Racket. The grip in a more square format characteristic of the brand will be quite pleasing to some players, but others may not like it. The swing is centered slightly to the head but not immediately noticed.

By placing the overgrips, you will be able to slightly optimise the swing towards the handle. If you cannot put more than 1 overgrip the option is also for placing tungsten tapes under the Overgrip (s) to lower the paddle balance. On the contrary if you want to add more power, place the ribbons on the top of the racket below or above the protector. This is a pretty viable option for when you like a lot of all the other features of a racket, less of your swing.

General Lines:

In play is a racket with a soft touch tending to medium, which proved very comfortable. Features an OK sweet spot  but not spectacular for tear-shaped rackets. In terms of power its not its strong point but does not disappoint, especially when you hit the sweet spot containing the extra ENERGY PRO material. There’s an average output.

In the net:

In the net trays and volleys come out with excellent placement and depth. It has a reasonable handling and feeling of lightness rather good for this type of racket, so it allows good quick reaction in the tighter volley. In the smash, it is best suited for spin and slice strokes due to some lack of power.

Back of the court:

Controlo from the back of the court is pretty good. The sweet spot is slightly directed upward, but after getting used to it the very comfortable and precise touch of the racket will help you a lot. The average output and reasonable handling also play in favor of this point. Lobs usually come out deep with no major problem.

The weight tested was 373gr.

The surface is smooth with matt finish.

In sound terms it is a racket that has a medium sound and with a medium timbre.

Safety cord:

The safety cord is simple and does not allow easy adjustment.

In terms of durability, it seems to be an extremely solid racket, very well built and robust. Well cared for, it can last a long time with good performance.

  • Comfortable
  • Robustness
  • Above average control for the format

  • Sweet spot something short
  • Safety Cord not adjustable
  • Some power is missing

In conclusion, this is a racket that just like the others of the DROP SHOT brand  have a lot of innovative embedded Technology. It’s a very robust and visually interesting racket. In my opinion it is a racket that serves players on both sides, but would say even more right given its very positive control. Recommended for mid-level players up to high. It becomes an easy to use racket after some habituation, however the price in line with the high range, is more suitable for players already with some gaming experience.

It has a soft touch tending to medium  and an average output. When you hit the sweet spot and due to the addition of the reinforcement with the ENERGY PRO particle foam in that area, the output is superior as well as the power. Sweet spot is not spectacular but it’s easy to get used to. In the defensive phase the good touch of the ball allows good control, and the output also helps in that point. The handling is reasonable by the feeling of lightness that the racket has. In the net is not where the racket will shine in terms of power, being more focused on the lifts and slices. Volleys and trays come out deep and accurate. You can do with some difficulty, draw by 3, 4 and bring the ball back.

The visual part is in my bold opinion but it works. The strong colors and the logo in silver works quite well.

The touch is soft and very comfortable, I did not feel vibration in the Arm. The swing tending to the top may weigh a bit at the end.

Another different racket, full of technology from DROP SHOT. Good games!
