Racket of the range “BLACK MAMBA” of the prestigious Spanish brand VIBOR-A, in its version liquid 2018. It’s the weapon chosen by Maxi Gabriel for this season. Composed of a structure in carbon and Kevlar, face in fiberglass and carbon and a core of gum EVA SOFT. It has a tear shape. It has a rough surface with Matt finish.
When you take it for the first time you get the feeling of a racket with stunning visuals and good finishes. The swing is quite centered and well distributed to a racket of this format.
By placing the overgrips, you will be able to slightly optimise the swing towards the handle. If you cannot put more than 1 overgrip the option is also for placing tungsten tapes under the Overgrip (s) to lower the paddle balance. On the contrary if you want to add more power, place the ribbons on the top of the racket below or above the protector. This is a pretty viable option for when you like a lot of all the other features of a racket, less of your swing.
In play is a racket with a surprisingly hard touch. Features an excellent sweet spot for a teardrop format. In terms of power, we notice that it lacks a little, due to the more centered weight distribution and a higher bet on the control. It has a high output, already a characteristic of this range “BLACK MAMBA”, which helps you a lot in the defensive stage but makes it more difficult to control.
In the net:
In the net trays and volleys come out with ease, however attention to the high output not to avoid the glass. It is appropriate to redouble the attention and a correct finish . In the smash, the lack of power somewhat limits this chapter, but it remains possible to achieve a good ball speed with some more effort on the player’s part.
Back of the court:
Control from the back of the court is very good, especially in the most defensive stage. The above average sweet spot, the swing centered and high output helps you respond to everything you get thrown at. The strokes come out quite deep with ease due to its high output. Lobs don’t get short with this racket, but watch the glass.
The weight tested was 365gr.
Surface: The surface is rough with matt finish.
Sound: In sound terms is a racket that has a loud sound and with a loud timbre as it is already characteristic of the brand.
The safety cord is adjustable as is the habit of the Vibor-a brand.
In terms of durability, it seems to be a solid racket, very well built and robust. Well cared for, it can last a long time with good performance.
- Excellent sweet spot
- Adjustable cord System
- Good control
- High Output * (for those who like it)
- Lack power
- High Output * (for those who do not like)
* This point appears as positive and negative because it really is a feature that stands out in the racket and is really a very positive point for some and negative for others.
In conclusion, this is a very well designed racket and very in line with its previous version that has had so much success with the players. In my opinion it is a racket that serves mostly right-wing players. Due to the price, I recommend only for middle-high level players, yet it becomes a fairly easy racket given its output, swing and sweet spot, for a player in initiation.
It has a stroke that clearly tends to hard and a high exit. It is a racket with a very wide sweet spot for its format. In the defensive stage the excellent exit will help you and much to defend everything. Handling is very good for this format, not being at the level of a clear round racket.
In the net will clearly notice the lack of power but can achieve with some effort to get the desired ball speed. Volleys and trays come out deep but watch the glass. You can with some difficulty, draw by 3, 4 and bring the ball back. The rugged face helps in the intended effects.
The visual part is in my opinion is fantastic. One of the most beautiful of the brand and the market probably.
I felt some vibration in my arm given its hard tact. The swing centered contrasts that point helps in the comfort of the racket. Players with good preparation will not have any major problems.
A well-designed racket that will continue to deal cards in the paddle world. Good games!
