Racket of the line “500 LIGHT”, of the Portuguese brand VOLT PADEL. Composed solely of carbon and a core of EVA SOFT gum, a medium-low density gum. It has a round shape with a slight touch of tear. It has a smooth surface with matt finish.

Racket Features:

First Impressions:

As in the VOLT 700 and 500, when you take it for the first time you get the feeling of a racket visually impressive and very well finished. The swing is centered, very slightly to fall to the head as in its version 500, which is in all similar with the exception of the weight.

By placing the overgrips, you will be able to optimize the balance in the direction of the handle. If you cannot put more than 1 overgrip the option is also for placing tungsten tapes under the Overgrip (s) to lower the paddle balance. On the contrary if you want to add more power, place the ribbons on the top of the racket below or above the protector. This is a pretty viable option for when you like a lot of all the other features of a racket, less of your swing.

General lines:

In play is a racket with a medium touch to tend slightly to soft. By the gum the touch would be expected to be more soft, but its 100% carbon structure gives you the extra stiffness that in my opinion suits you very well. It features a large sweet spot, just like in the VOLT 500. In terms of power is a little short of the VOLT 500 due to the weight interval best suited for female players. It continues however, by its shape and balance to have a power above a round racket in the same weight conditions. It has an average output to tend to short.

On the net:

On the net is, such as the VOLT 500, a very easy and constant racket. It has an average output to tend to short, less than the VOLT 500. To achieve the desired depth and weight in the ball requires a good input from the player. It is quite manageable and as such allows you to react quickly. In the smash, not being your ideal hit, using the body weight well, like the VOLT 500, it is still possible to achieve good results.

Back of the court:

The control from the back of the court remains exceptional, the output is not excessive and allows control of the ball at 100% of all the points in the field. The sweet spot and swing makes it an easy racket for all kind of players. The output is average to tend to short by force of its weight smaller than version 500. Lobs and defensive strokes come out well and smoothly.

Weight:

The weight tested was 350gr.

Surface:

The surface is smooth with matt finish.

Sound:

In sound terms is a racket that has a medium sound and with a medium timbre.

Safety cord:

The safety cord is adjustable and quite comfortable, which should be the norm in all rackets in my opinion.

Durability:

In terms of durability, it seems to be a solid racket, very well built and robust that will not break very easily. Well-esteemed will last a long time in my opinion.

Pros:

  • Sweet spot Wide
  • Exceptional control
  • Very good Visual
  • Adjustable cord

Cons:

  • Lacks power

Conclusion:

In conclusion, this is a racket, for its weight interval, indicated for female or male practitioners who have preference for fairly light paddles. It is suitable for players of all levels, who want a racket with a constant touch and that helps them a lot in the defensive stage, maintaining some commitment in the attack. It counts with exceptional control, good manusebilidade and generous sweet spot such as its “sister” VOLT500. It lacks power, but for this format and weight range, it’s pretty good.

It has a medium-soft hit and an average output to tend very slightly to short. It is a racket that in the defensive stage will help you a lot and on the net, being quite manageable, it proves to be easy and constant. In the smash, with a strong arm and correct body positioning technique you will be able to draw by 3 by 4 and bring the ball back with some additional effort.

The visual part is one of the strengths of this racket in my opinion as in the other two brand rackets. It features a minimalist look and very well achieved. I didn’t feel practically vibration in the arm, but it’s not totally exempt due to its totally carbon structure that gives it good stiffness. Its centered balance contributes to not overexerting the elbow and shoulder tendons.

It serves, in my opinion, mostly female practitioner but also players of all levels, mainly right-wing and with greater defensive predominance in their game. Very good also for beginners for being an easy racket. One more quality racket of a Portuguese-signed project at a very competitive price. Good games!
